2016-17 Vermont preseason high school boys basketball Fab 5, presented by the Army National Guard

1. Burlington
Head coach: Matt Johnson
2015-16 record: 23-1

Burlington nabbed the Vermont Division 1 state championship last season. Look for All-State second team guard Kevin Garrison to have a huge year after posting 12.6 points and five rebounds per game.

2. Rice Memorial (South Burlington)

Head coach: Paul Pecor
2015-16 record: 20-5



Rice Memorial ended last season by reaching the Division 1 state title game. Watch for guard Elliot Nelson to have a big year after earning All-State third team honors.

3. Hazen (Hardwick)
Head coach: Aaron Hill
2015-16 record: 21-2

Hazen capped off last year by claiming a Division 3 state title. Dennis Lecours will head the attack after capturing All-State honorable mention honors.

4. Rutland
Head coach: Mike Wood
2015-16 record: 19-4

Rutland completed last year by reaching the Division 1 state semifinals. Senior sharpshooter Nathaniel Kingsley will be tough to neutralize after depositing 18 points and seven rebounds per game.

5. Mount Anthony (Bennington)
Head coach: Dan Sleeman
2015-16 record: 19-4



Mount Anthony made it to the Division 1 state semifinals last year for the seventh-consecutive season. The Patriots are a veteran bunch and hungry to get over the hump.
