Recap: Hoboken Redwings vs. Cliffside Park Raiders
The Hoboken Redwings entered their tilt with the Cliffside Park Raiders with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Hoboken was the clear victor by a 58-36 margin over Cliffside Park. Considering Hoboken has won four matchups by more than 21 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Despite the defeat, Cliffside Park saw an underclassman step up: Jerelz Ortiz dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ken Hunter, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Hoboken pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.33 points. As for Cliffside Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoboken will face off against Kearny at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cliffside Park won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fort Lee at 4:00 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Fort Lee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
