Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Thrall's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Thrall hadn't done well against Lexington recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 3-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Eagles last Tuesday, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

The result came thanks to Miley Pokorny's shutout, as she gave up just nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Selena Quintanilla, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Piper Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Thrall has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Lexington, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Looking ahead, Thrall will head out to challenge Rockdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thrall is facing Rockdale at the right time seeing as Rockdale is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Lexington, they will host Rogers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Rogers will have lost nine straight heading into Tuesday's match.
