Football Recap: Bonanza Piles Up the Points Against Amplus Academy

There's no place like home for Bonanza, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 31-0 win over the Amplus Academy Archers. Considering the Bengals' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jayla Lopez was the offensive standout of the match as she threw for 105 yards and four touchdowns.

Bonanza was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in January.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bonanza's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Larein Caballero.

Bonanza's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Amplus Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Bonanza wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 30-0 win against Somerset Sky Pointe on the 9th. Amplus Academy has also already played their next game, a 13-6 defeat against Chaparral on the 9th.
