Rancho Cotate and Acalanes squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Rancho Cotate had to settle for second. They came up short against the Dons, falling 7-1. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Aiden O'Sullivan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Rancho Cotate saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jett Derammelaere, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Rancho Cotate's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Acalanes, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-10-1.

As of now, neither Rancho Cotate nor the Dons have any future games scheduled.
