Cameron's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hayward Hurricanes, sneaking past 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Comets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Cameron who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 16-25, 25-16, 19-25, 15-12.
Jillian Emerson paced Cameron's offense, picking up eight kills. Emerson got some help from Emerson Krahenbuhl and her 13 assists. Emerson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.
Cameron has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Hayward, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
