Baseball Recap: McMinn Central Takes a Loss

McMinn Central managed to slip by Roane County the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chargers came up short against the Yellowjackets on Tuesday, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Chargers couldn't push the score so high this time.

The result came thanks to Tyler Oaks's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Garrett Wilcox made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

McMinn Central's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Roane County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McMinn Central beat Roane County by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.
