Basketball Recap: Biloxi Falls Despite Big Games from Jaden Eckford and Jakylen Edwards

Biloxi was the 68-49 winner over D'Iberville when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Biloxi Indians fell to the D'Iberville Warriors 49-43. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Biloxi's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jakylen Edwards, who posted ten points and seven boards, and Jaden Eckford, who put up eight points and three steals. That's the most points Edwards has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carnellous Lenard, who earned five points.

Even though they lost, Biloxi smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Biloxi's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for D'Iberville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Biloxi will challenge Ridgeland at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Ridgeland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Biloxi likes a good challenge. As for D'Iberville, they will head out on the road to take on Harrison Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Harrison Central: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while D'Iberville has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
