Baseball Recap: Conway Christian Wins Going Away Against Quitman

Conway Christian never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Quitman on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-11 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Eagles have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Preston Elliott was a standout: he went 1-for-5 with one home run and five RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Hudson Wheeler was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Conway Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Conway Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Quitman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conway Christian will host Mt. Vernon-Enola at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.11 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Quitman, they will take on Concord at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
