Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Ontario

It's playoff time, and Ontario had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the California Condors on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Jaguars have won by exactly three runs.

Sam Escobedo was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Estrada, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Noah Acevedo was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Ontario kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win was the third in a row for Ontario, bringing their record up to 13-8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for California, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-14.

As of now, neither Ontario nor the Condors have any future games scheduled.
