Basketball Recap: Creekside Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Creekside Christian Academy lost against New Creation Christian Academy back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars took a 39-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders.

Despite the loss, Creekside Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ashley Yefremov posted eight points along with eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Milan Shy, who put up four points and five rebounds.

Nevaeh Barry was a one-woman wrecking crew For New Creation Christian Academy. as she dropped a double-double with 12 points and 20 boards. Barry is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Shiloh Pitney was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Creekside Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for New Creation Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Creekside Christian Academy will face off against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for New Creation Christian Academy, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Konos Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Condor have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
