Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lloyd Andersen and Quinlan Ekberg Lead Utah Military Academy - Hill Field to Victory

Utah Military Academy - Hill Field's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pinnacle Panthers by a score of 63-54. For the Thunderbirds, this counts as revenge for the 59-53 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.

Leading Utah Military Academy - Hill Field to victory were Quinlan Ekberg and Lloyd Andersen. Ekberg dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 rebounds, while Andersen went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Ekberg's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Wankier, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.

Utah Military Academy - Hill Field smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Pinnacle lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brody Howell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. That's the most points Howell has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Diego Contreras, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards.

Utah Military Academy - Hill Field is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Pinnacle, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
