Volleyball Recap: Coronado Cougars vs. Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles
Coronado had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles 3-0 on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Coronado was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-7, 25-16.
JULIE BECKHAM paced Coronado's offense, picking up 12 kills. BECKHAM got some help from TRU HALVORSEN and her 21 assists. GENTRY OBLAD controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-4.
Coming up, Coronado will face off against Faith Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Somerset Sky Pointe, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Horizon on the 22nd.
