Basketball Game Preview: Louisburg Warriors vs. Cedar Valley Aviators

The Louisburg Warriors and the Cedar Valley Aviators will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Louisburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 67-55 victory over J.F. Webb last Friday. The win was some much needed relief for Louisburg as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jaylen Alexander went supernova for Louisburg, putting up 19 points and three steals. That's the most steals Alexander has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Harrison, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Louisburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Cedar Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They slipped by South Granville 60-59. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Aviators as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Cedar Valley had a senior duo take command as Owen Bawden dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards and James Milligan went 7 of 12 on his way to 14 points. Bawden is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Haslam, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points.

Louisburg's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Cedar Valley, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-6.
