Preview: Assumption Academy vs. Summit Christian Academy Warriors
Assumption Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Summit Christian Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Assumption Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Saturday, Assumption Academy lost to La Salette Academy on the road by a decisive 51-33 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Assumption Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Summit Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Thursday. They claimed a resounding 78-26 win over MICAH Christian at home. With Summit Christian Academy ahead 41-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
It was another big night for Braden Wheeler, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Hammond, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Assumption Academy bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Summit Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Assumption Academy came up short against Summit Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 63-50. Can Assumption Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
