Basketball Recap: Lev Goldman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Francis W. Parker over IC Catholic Prep

Francis W. Parker lost against IC Catholic Prep back in February of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Francis W. Parker Colonels took a 63-49 bruising from the IC Catholic Prep Knights. While losing is never fun, the Colonels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Knights are ranked 94th).

Francis W. Parker's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lev Goldman, who posted 21 points. Goldman is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Brady Harris, who earned 13 points.

Francis W. Parker has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for IC Catholic Prep, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Francis W. Parker has already played their next game, a 69-62 victory against Chicago University on the 21st. As for IC Catholic Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-45 loss against DePaul College Prep on the 21st.
