Basketball Recap: Rylee Little and Kaycee Castagno Secure Win for Kanab

Kanab won the last time they faced Pine View and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cowboys snuck past the Panthers with a 49-43 win.

Kanab was led to victory by Kaycee Castagno and Rylee Little. Castagno dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards, while Little dropped a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Castagno a new career-high. Jaydee Houston was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Pine View lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ella Fiefia, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Gustin, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Kanab's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Kanab wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-44 win against Chinle on the 22nd. As for Pine View, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
