Soccer Game Preview: Loveland Classical vs. Flatirons Academy

The Loveland Classical Lions will head out to face off against the Flatirons Academy Bison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Loveland Classical will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Loveland Classical is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on STEM School Highlands Ranch with a sharp 10-0 win on Wednesday. Give Loveland Classical's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting STEM School Highlands Ranch from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Abby Ruppert led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Flatirons Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 3-1. That's two games straight that Flatirons Academy have won by exactly two goals.

Loveland Classical's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Flatirons Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
