Volleyball Recap: Coahoma Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Coahoma won the last time they faced Sterling City and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1.

Coahoma had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-16.

Madi Renteria paced Coahoma's offense, picking up 13 kills. Renteria got some help from Gabby Cox and her 20 assists. Cox and Renteria didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Despite the loss, Sterling City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Charley Wilson had 12 digs and nine kills. Wilson is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Caldwell, who had 15 digs and nine assists.

Coahoma is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7-1 record this season. As for Sterling City, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-6.

Coahoma has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Stanton on the 9th. As for Sterling City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bronte on the 9th.
