Baseball Recap: Hardin Find Success

Hardin gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks, sneaking past 4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on Monday.

Lleyton Berry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Berry was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Jayden Phelps was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hardin has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Hardin-Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Hardin is taking a road trip to square off against West Sabine at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Hardin-Jefferson, they will be taking part in a tournament against Warren at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
