Softball Recap: Oldham County's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Oldham County waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the South Oldham Dragons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-9 back in April.

Jozie Lashley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Bekah Townsend was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sydney Wirth, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and one run.

Oldham County pushed their record up to 28-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Oldham, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.

As of now, neither Oldham County nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
