Basketball Recap: Emerson Comes Up Short

Emerson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 63-47 bruising from the Lafayette County Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-38 back in December of 2024.

Lafayette County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty Palermo led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Palermo has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more boards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Stevens, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Emerson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Lafayette County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

Emerson has already played their next contest (against Hermitage), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lafayette County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-40 win against Taylor on the 30th.
