Preview: Miami Beach Hi-Tides vs. Carol City Chiefs
After three games on the road, Miami Beach is heading back home. They will take on the Carol City Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Miami Beach, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 80-64 loss to American.
Meanwhile, Carol City was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 62-56 to North Miami. Carol City has not had much luck with North Miami recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Carol City had strong showings from Jahquori Lombrage, who scored 29 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Mikaili Taylor, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lombrage has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Decurtis Johnson, who scored six points.
Miami Beach's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5. As for Carol City, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Miami Beach was able to grind out a solid victory over Carol City in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 57-50. Does Miami Beach have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carol City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
