Softball Game Preview: Beecher Bobcats vs. Brimfield Indians

The Beecher Bobcats will challenge the Brimfield Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Beecher will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Beecher is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Seneca 1-0.

Not much got past Taylor Norkus, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Seneca off the board. With that strong performance, Norkus is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Beecher saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Lorenzatti, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Brimfield waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Bruins.

Sawyer Drury made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Layla Hersemann, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

Brimfield's record is now 33-3. As for Beecher, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 34-2.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Beecher hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. However, it's not like Brimfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
