Softball Recap: Berkeley Springs Comes Up Short

Berkeley Springs extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 5-16 in the process. They came up short against the Spring Mills Cardinals, falling 28-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 back in March.

Alaira Harrington was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Spring Mills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by seven runs or more this season.

On Spring Mills' side, they got a massive performance out of Alexis Wagner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Wagner has posted over her last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sabrina Nutter, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.

Berkeley Springs wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 19-1 defeat against Moorefield on the 29th. As for Spring Mills, they have also already played their next match, a 9-4 loss against Musselman on the 29th.
