Football Game Preview: Immanuel Christian Crusaders vs. Maricopa Indians

The Immanuel Christian Crusaders are taking a road trip to square off against the Maricopa Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Maricopa will be up against a hot Immanuel Christian squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Crusaders took their matchup two weeks ago with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over Lone Pine. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-6.

Immanuel Christian found their leader in freshman Romelle Harris, who rushed for 183 yards and three TDs on only eight carries, and also picked up 73 receiving yards and one score. Harris really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Mazyn Weaver was in the mix as well, providing Immanuel Christian with two touchdowns.

Immanuel Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 218 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Immanuel Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Harris. Harris is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 116 every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Maricopa against Legacy Christian Academy on Friday as the team secured a 46-18 win.

Maricopa now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Immanuel Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
