Basketball Recap: Odem Takes a Loss

Odem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Karnes City Badgers. The Owls were probably out for revenge after losing 46-43 to them when the teams met back in December of 2014, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Karnes City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Crow, who posted eight points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Savion Nixon-Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Odem's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Karnes City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Odem will welcome London at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Karnes City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Luling at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Luling is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season.
