Basketball Recap: Desert Pines Victorious

Desert Pines won the last time they faced Foothill, and Aaron McMorran did his part to make sure it happened again. The Desert Pines Jaguars strolled past the Foothill Falcons with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 69-50 thanks in part to McMorran, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 23 points and five steals. His afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Merto, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mudd Comtois, who had 13 points. Another player making a difference was Dejon Townsend, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points.

The victory got Desert Pines back to even at 6-6. As for Foothill, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Desert Pines will challenge Silverado at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Foothill, they will square off against Mojave at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
