Volleyball Recap: Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lutheran managed to slip by Rampart the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Rams on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Rampart scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 25-17.

Rampart found their leader in freshman Zac Hansen, who had 11 digs and four assists. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Hansen.

Lutheran has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Rampart, they pushed their record up to 12-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Lutheran will challenge Fountain-Fort Carson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rampart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
