Softball Recap: Heritage Eagles vs. Highlands Ranch Falcons
It was a Battle of the Birds when Heritage took on Highlands Ranch on Wednesday. The Heritage Eagles fell 7-4 to the Highlands Ranch Falcons. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Caitlin Chamaty was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyberty Bernal, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Heritage's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Highlands Ranch, their record now sits at 7-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage will challenge Rock Canyon at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Rock Canyon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Highlands Ranch, they will take on Ponderosa at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
