Softball Recap: Heritage Christian vs. PACT Charter Panthers
Heritage Christian had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-4 to make it four. They lost 23-3 to the PACT Charter Panthers. Heritage Christian was not able to make up for their defeat to PACT Charter from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
As for PACT Charter, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games.
For PACT Charter's part, Mia Sparre made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Sparre has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, June Tessum was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and five runs. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Sonja Larsen was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Coming up, Heritage Christian will take on New Life Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for PACT Charter, they will head out to square off against Spectrum at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Sting have yet to allow a single run through five contests this season, a streak the Panthers will look to end.
