Softball Recap: Mount Juliet Sets Scoring Season-High Against Gallatin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Juliet). They blew past the Gallatin Green Wave 21-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Golden Bears have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Younggren was incredible, firing off two home runs, nine RBI, and five runs while going 3-for-4. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Annalise Mecklenberg, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.

Mount Juliet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .564. They are 14-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Mount Juliet is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Gallatin, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Coming up, Mount Juliet will take on Christian Academy of Knoxville in a tournament on Saturday. As for Gallatin, they will be playing at home against Hendersonville at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.
