Basketball Recap: Sherman's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Sherman can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 36-29 victory over the Greenville Lions. This was a revenge game for the Bearcats: when they faced off against the Lions back in December of 2024, they had to take a 39-37 defeat.

Sherman's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 4-20. As for Greenville, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-24.

Sherman and Greenville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Sherman will take on Walnut Grove at 6:15 p.m. on Friday down 804 places (992 vs. 188). Sherman is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Meanwhile, Greenville (ranked 1038th) will meet Anna (ranked 131st) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
