After a string of 11 wins, Bishop Kearney's good fortune finally ran out on Sunday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to the Averill Park Warriors. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Kings came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Warriors are ranked 46th).

Bishop Kearney's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Averill Park, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

When Bishop Kearney and Averill Park next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Bishop Kearney will take on St. Mary's and their five-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Kearney is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Meanwhile, Averill Park will try to stop Albany's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
