Soccer Game Preview: Englewood vs. Bennett

The Englewood Pirates will square off against the Bennett Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Englewood is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Englewood's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Arvada 1-0. Englewood's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven contests.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Selle Strawbridge, who's now up to 16 this season.

Meanwhile, Bennett's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake County. Having soared to a lofty nine goals in the game before, Bennett couldn't push the score so high this time.

Englewood's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Bennett, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1.
