McClave was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after a bye. The Cardinals came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Hoehne extended the longest winning streak in A-8 South - Southern (8 Man) this week by beating La Veta, 66-18. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Farmers.
Hoehne's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Sawyer Schafer threw for 147 and one touchdown and Derrick Cordova had 76 yards receiving. On the ground Wyatt Schrepfer chipped in 195 yards. Schrepfer helped Hoehne's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.
Jeremy Burke provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Fowler topped Norwood. He completed eight passes for 111 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 134 yards. Burke's favorite target this week was Blaine Larson, who caught five passes for 55 yards.
Bob Schafer's team's Schafer and Cordova have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Schafer has thrown for 1452 yards this season, while Cordova, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 38 catches for 778 yards. Manzanola's Alan Peil leads the league in rushing yards with 1460.
The Farmers took down the Redskins 66-18 last week, the largest margin of any game. Schrepfer in the win.
