Soccer Game Preview: Newark Charter School vs. Caravel Academy

The Newark Charter School Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Caravel Academy Buccaneers at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Newark Charter School is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Padua Academy, who was ranked sixth at the time (Newark Charter School was ranked seventh). The Patriots never let Padua Academy get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Newark Charter School.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Caravel Academy was forced to settle for a draw. They and Sussex Academy finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Newark Charter School's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. Caravel Academy's draw gives them a new season record of 10-1-1.
