Football Game Preview: Vaughn vs. Lake Arthur

Lake Arthur may have come out ahead in their last game, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will challenge Vaughn on the road at 2:00 PM on Friday. If the game is anything like the 48-36 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Lake Arthur and Roy/Mosquero were playing football. Lake Arthur walked away with a 76-64 win over Roy/Mosquero. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Lake Arthur as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Vaughn faced Springer/Maxwell in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Vaughn came up short against Springer/Maxwell last Friday, falling 42-52. It was a tough break for Vaughn, who improved upon an already decent score from the game before but lost both times.

Lake Arthur's win lifted them to 1-3 while Vaughn's defeat dropped them down to 2-2. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up.
