Basketball Recap: Timpson Piles Up the Points Against Elysian Fields

Timpson had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets, posting a 64-12 victory. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timpson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Johnson, who went 6 for 8 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Johnson has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliah Norris, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards.

Timpson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in ten consecutive games.

Timpson is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 18-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.1 points per game. As for Elysian Fields, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.

Timpson will host Beckville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Timpson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Elysian Fields, they will venture away from home to challenge Tenaha at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tenaha has 13 straight wins, Elysian Fields has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
