Baseball Recap: La Lumiere Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tippecanoe Valley, La Lumiere was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Marquette Catholic Blazers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lakers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Josh Jaracz made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sabastian Morris, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Kishta, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

La Lumiere's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Marquette Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, La Lumiere is taking a road trip to take on Culver Academies at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marquette Catholic, they will be playing at home against Lake Station Edison at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blazers are facing the Fighting Eagles at the right time seeing as the Fighting Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
