Football Recap: Seneca Valley Takes a Loss

Seneca Valley was the 31-30 winner over Canon-McMillan when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell 33-29 to the Big Macs on Friday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canon-McMillan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braelon Wingfield, who rushed for 70 yards and one score on only eight carries. Wingfield didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended one pass.

Seneca Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Canon-McMillan, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seneca Valley will head out to challenge Hempfield Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.71 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Canon-McMillan, they are taking a road trip to take on North Allegheny at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Big Macs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
