Softball Recap: Homestead Takes a Loss

Homestead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-1 to the Slinger Owls. If the Highlanders were looking for revenge after losing 8-3 to the Owls when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Homestead saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emmy Sehnert, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Slinger, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Homestead will square off against Port Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Highlanders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Slinger, they will take on Whitefish Bay at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
