The Olympic Heights Lions lost against the Palm Beach Gardens Gators back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Olympic Heights was dealt a 60-18 loss at the hands of Palm Beach Gardens. Olympic Heights was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-2.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palm Beach Gardens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaliyah Magwood, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Azariah Marrero, who scored ten points along with six assists and three steals.
Olympic Heights' defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.2 points per game. As for Palm Beach Gardens, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympic Heights will take on Monarch at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Monarch is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Palm Beach Gardens, they will play host again and welcome Jupiter, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
