Football Game Preview: Carson Colts vs. Banning Pilots + Official Tickets

Carson and Banning are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Colts will host the Pilots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Banning took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Carson, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Carson blew past Gardena, posting a 49-20 victory. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won three matchups by 29 points or more so far this season.

Chris Fields iii produced another solid effort throwing for 211 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 40 yards. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Carson's leading receiver Jordin Daniel was Fields iii's top target yet again, picking up 77 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Carson's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 4.5 times. In that department, Kingston Sula was the leader with 2.5 sacks. He has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last eight times he's played. Carson got some further help from Xavier Allen: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

Meanwhile, Banning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by San Pedro 55-13. The Pilots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.

Banning's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Carson, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Carson took their win against Banning when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 45-21 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Pilots' Steven Perez, who rushed for 154 yards and two scores while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Colts to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
