Baseball Recap: Marion County's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Marion County unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles, falling 15-0. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Marion County got a good showing from Brett Webb, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs Webb has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Marion County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Tipton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Marion County's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Shelbyville Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Marion County and Shelbyville Central will both be playing Middle Tennessee Monarchs the next time they take the field. The Golden Eagles will head out to face Middle Tennessee Monarchs at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
