Basketball Game Preview: West Salem Titans vs. Thurston Colts

The West Salem Titans will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Thurston Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

West Salem is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a hard 98-79 fall against Inglewood on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (57), the Titans still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, on MondayThurston's undefeated season almost came to an end. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Gresham 48-45. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Gophers are ranked 169th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Thurston's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for West Salem, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
