Holmen waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the La Crosse Logan Rangers 9-1. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly eight runs.

Bennett Schild tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Maddax Connely was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Joe Meeter was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Holmen's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for La Crosse Logan, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Holmen will take on La Crosse Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for La Crosse Logan, they will face off against Menomonie at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
