Softball Game Preview: Barlow Bruins vs. Reynolds Raiders

Barlow is 9-1 against Reynolds since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bruins will host the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Barlow's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Reynolds' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Barlow's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Clackamas with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won seven games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Barlow got a great performance from Kaylee Pokorny 2025 as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Katie Jordaine 2026 and Charliann Renner 2025 did most of the damage at the plate: Jordaine 2026 went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Renner 2025 went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave Jordaine 2026 a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Trapp 2026, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Reynolds was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Gresham, falling 15-1.

Reynolds' loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Barlow, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-8.

Barlow took their win against Reynolds in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
