Basketball Game Preview: Oakton Cougars vs. Chantilly Chargers

The Oakton Cougars will challenge the Chantilly Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oakton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Oakton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They secured a 49-43 W over Yorktown. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th in Virginia, while the Patriots are ranked 143rd in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Washington-Liberty typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Chantilly proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Generals by a score of 48-40.

Oakton pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Chantilly, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
