Preview: Plantation Colonels vs. Hollywood Hills Spartans
Plantation is 1-9 against Hollywood Hills since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Plantation Colonels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hollywood Hills Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Plantation knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Hollywood Hills likes a good challenge.
Even though Plantation has not done well against Piper recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Plantation secured a 67-61 W over Piper. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Plantation's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jabari Washington, who scored 16 points. Daterrius Heller was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Hollywood Hills came up short against Hallandale on Monday and fell 58-46. Hollywood Hills has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Plantation's win lifted them to 4-0 while Piper's loss dropped them down to 0-6.
Plantation beat Hollywood Hills 52-44 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Does Plantation have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hollywood Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
